SWIM-A THON
The Sauk Prairie Pool Sharks Swim-a-thon fundraiser has been a huge success in raising funds to provide things like equipment and scholarships for our swimmers. One day of practices (morning and afternoon) in the summer is designated for our Swim-a-Thon.
The process is simple: Swimmers set a goal for the number of laps they think they can swim in an hour and then solicit donations from friends and family by flat rat or by number of laps. Donations can be collected before or after the Swim-a-Thon. The day of the Swim-a-Thon, during the regular practice time, swimmers simply swim as many lengths as they can. We need parent counters at the morning and afternoon practices. Treats are provided and prizes are awarded (at the end of year banquet) to swimmers with the most laps at each age group as well as for the top fund raiser. Most of our swimmers participate and are excited to reach or even surpass their goals!
