Spring swim opportunities and Boys Swim Youth Night

Greetings Pool Shark families,

I hope this email finds you safe and well. The purpose of this email is to give you a few updates regarding Pool Sharks and upcoming swimming opportunities and events.

As many of you know, we will have a new 8 lane competition pool this fall. As exciting as that is, we will have to say goodbye to our current indoor pool to begin the transformation of that space. The last day the indoor pool will be in operation is March 28th, 2021. This will impact our spring swim opportunities, and our summer practice schedule. We are already working with our aquatics director to work around the absence of our indoor pool, and are working to create opportunities for our kids to swim this spring and summer.

Attached you will find information about the Eagles Spring 2021 Competitive Swim Camp. The program is being offered by our Community Center. They already have COVID policies and waivers in place. There will be 3 two week sessions offered for high school, middle school, and elementary aged swimmers. (Elementary swimmers must be at a level 4 proficiency, meaning they can swim a 50 by themselves since coaches are not allowed to be ¨hands on¨ in the water.) Registration for the first session will open January 15th, at noon. Registration will be limited due to COVID regulations. The registration on the 15th is only for the first session. The later sessions will open on later dates TBD. You must be registered with Rec Desk ahead of time. Use the following link to register.

The Sauk Prairie Boys Co-op Swim Team would like to virtually invite you to their Youth Night, which will occur on Tuesday, January 19th at 6pm via livestream. There will be pre-recorded messages from the high school swimmers to our youth swimmers during the break. (Between the 50 free and 100 butterfly events) Use the link below to view the meet and support our boys!

Lastly, I am meeting with our Pool Sharks board members, and our Tri-County board this month to discuss our summer season options and opportunities. There are still a lot of unanswered questions at this time, but I can assure you we are all working very hard to make summer swim opportunities possible this season. That being said, if you are interested in being part of the Pool Sharks board, please let me know and I can send you a link to our meeting on January 13th at 7 pm. Also, we are currently looking for a treasurer for the 2021 season. Jen Dunnum has done an amazing job with this position for us in the past and is willing to train anyone who is interested. Please email me interests and/or questions.

Thank you for your continued support of our swimming community!
