This week's practice schedule and Wednesday's meet information
Hello Pool Sharks!
Congratulations on our win against Mazomanie on Saturday!
Individual and team results are posted on our website under "Meets and Events." Click on "Meet results." They will be posted here after each meet. If your swimmer finished in the top 3 of their individual event, or their relay got 1st place, they earned a ribbon at the meet! Ribbons are in your family folder in the Pool Shark Mailboxes at the outdoor pool. The mailbox will be placed on the bench by the concession stand during practices. If it is not there, you can ask a coach to for it. Parents or swimmers may access their mailboxes at anytime.
Due to the upcoming holiday weekend and meet on Wednesday, there are some changes to our practice schedule for this week. Please see the practice changes listed below and/or reference our calendar on our website.
- Wednesday, June 30th - We WILL have all morning practices, but NO PM practice due to the meet.
- Thursday, July 1st - NO AM practices (due to the meet the night before), but we WILL have the PM practice.
- Friday, July 2nd - We WILL have all practices.
- Monday, July 5th - NO PRACTICES ALL DAY
Wednesday night we will host Baraboo! THIS IS A NIGHT MEET! If this is your first swim meet, please see the "Swim Meet 101" section under the "Resources" tab on our website, or click the link below to know what to expect and how to prepare.
- We can get on deck to start setting up the meet until 5 pm. If you arrive at the pool before 5, please stay OFF the deck until after 5:00.
- You can start arriving at 4:45 pm to set up outside the fence. Warm ups will be split into 2 groups again. Ages 13-19 will warm up from 5:15-5:25, and 12 and under will warm up from 5:25-5:35. Baraboo will have the pool from 5:35-5:55. We hope to start the meet at 6 pm.
- If you want to see what your swimmer is swimming in the meet, go to the "Meets and Events" tab on our website and click on the gray meet entry box (that is marked closed). You will be able to see your swimmer(s) and what they are scheduled to swim tomorrow with the event number.
- If you have not yet signed up for a volunteer job for the meet, it will tell you at the top of the page and you can click the link to sign up for a job to fulfill your volunteer requirement. We still have jobs open that NEED to be filled! We can train jobs as needed the night of the meet.
- All volunteers will need to check in with Rachel Hansen once you arrive and get set up. (Usually while the swimmers are warming up) She will be located by the bench next to the concession stand on the pool deck. You will then be told where to go and be trained for your job if needed. This is how you get credit for your volunteering, so please be sure to check in with her!
- Since it is a night meet, please come prepared with extra towels, blankets and sweatshirts/pants. The temperature will drop as the night goes on. This will help keep your swimmer(s) warm and dry.
- The theme for the meet is 4th of July - Red/White/Blue! Come dressed in your favorite patriotic attire to show some team spirit during the meet!
- We will be moving up the 8 and under free relays for this meet. They will occur between event #30 and #31. We will call for it over the announcements, and coaches will help remind those swimmers swimming that event.
- Heat sheets will be for sale at the concession stand, as well as brats, burgers, nachos and other concession items. The concession stand is cash only.
- Swimmers will report to clerk of course by the gate by the concession stand (where they have been entering for practice) to report for their events. Once they complete their races, they are to exit out the bathhouse through the locker rooms (like they have been doing for practice).
- Spectators will be allowed to sit in the bleacher area, but are NOT allowed on deck. We are asking spectators to spread out and only use the bleachers while their child is swimming, so others can do the same. There will be a one-way flow of traffic for the bleacher area. Please look for the signs to enter and exit that area.
- Once your child is done swimming all the events they are signed up for, and you have fulfilled your volunteer requirement, you may leave. If you are not sure, please ask a coach to be sure they are done swimming before you leave.
- If something comes up, and your swimmer is not able to swim in the meet, PLEASE CONTACT SYDNEY RALL ASAP. Her email is listed on our website and here. [email protected]
We are looking forward to an exciting week and meet! See you at the pool!
