Pictures are IN and meet info for tomorrow
July 9th
Hello Pool Shark families,
Team pictures are IN! I will have them at tonight's practice from 5:30-6:30. If they do not get picked up tonight, I will put them in your family mailbox to be picked up at anytime.
Tomorrow we will host Sun Prairie! They are the biggest team in our conference and will be bringing a lot of swimmers. Be prepared to be at the meet until noon or 1 pm. If this is your first swim meet, please see the "Swim Meet 101" section under the "Resources" tab on our website, or click the link below to know what to expect and how to prepare.
- Temperatures are looking to be in the low 60's early tomorrow morning. If it is below 65 for our warm ups, we are going to only have our 11 and older swimmers warm up to keep our younger swimmers warm and safe. We are not able to start the meet unless it is 65 degrees out. We are hoping to start the meet as close to 8 am as possible, but be prepared to have a delayed start until the temperature comes up to 65.
- You can start arriving at 6:45 am to get set up. If the temperature allows, warm ups will be split into 2 groups again. Ages 13-19 will warm up from 7:10-7:20, and 12 and under will warm up from 7:20-7:30. Sun Prairie will have the pool from 7:30-7:50. We hope to start the meet at 8 am weather permitting.
- If you want to see what your swimmer is swimming in the meet, go to the "Meets and Events" tab on our website and click on the gray meet entry box (that is marked closed). You will be able to see your swimmer(s) and what they are scheduled to swim tomorrow with the event number.
- If you have not yet signed up for a volunteer job for the meet, it will tell you at the top of the page and you can click the link to sign up for a job to fulfill your volunteer requirement. We still have jobs open if you have a swimmer in the meet and need to sign up to fulfill your volunteer requirement. We can train jobs as needed the night of the meet.
- All volunteers will need to check in with Rachel Hansen once you arrive and get set up. (Usually while the swimmers are warming up) She will be located by the bench next to the concession stand on the pool deck. You will then be told where to go and be trained for your job if needed. This is how you get credit for your volunteering, so please be sure to check in with her!
- It is going to be chilly in the morning. Please come prepared with extra towels, blankets and dry clothing/sweatshirts/pants for your swimmer to stay warm in between events.
- The theme for the meet is Superheros! Come dressed as your favorite Superhero to show some team spirit during the meet!
- The 8 and under Free Relays will be run in their normal event order at the end of the meet.
- Heat sheets will be for sale at the concession stand, as well as breakfast burritos, brats, burgers, nachos and other concession items. The concession stand is cash only.
- Swimmers will report to clerk of course by the gate by the concession stand (where they have been entering for practice) to report for their events. Once they complete their races, they are to exit out the bathhouse through the locker rooms (like they have been doing for practice).
- Spectators will be allowed to sit in the bleacher area, but are NOT allowed on deck. We are asking spectators to spread out and only use the bleachers while their child is swimming, so others can do the same. There will be a one-way flow of traffic for the bleacher area. Please look for the signs to enter and exit that area.
- Once your child is done swimming all the events they are signed up for, and you have fulfilled your volunteer requirement, you may leave. If you are not sure, please ask a coach to be sure they are done swimming before you leave.
- If something comes up, and your swimmer is not able to swim in the meet, PLEASE CONTACT SYDNEY RALL ASAP. Her email is listed on our website and here. [email protected]
We are looking forward to some great races and a fun meet! See you at the pool!
