Last week of swim details

Good evening Pool Shark families,

Congratulations on a great meet against Mt. Horeb! We are continuing to see improvements in our swimmer's times and strokes as we approach the end of our season.

Individual results are posted on our website under "Meets and Events." Click on "Meet results." They will be posted here after each meet. If your swimmer finished in the top 3 of their individual event, or their relay got 1st place, they earned a ribbon at the meet! Ribbons are in your family folder in the Pool Shark Mailboxes at the outdoor pool. The mailbox will be placed on the bench by the concession stand during practices. If it is not there, you can ask a coach to for it. Parents or swimmers may access their mailboxes at anytime.

This is our last week of the season, ending with our Conference Dual meet on Saturday!

The registration deadline for the Conference Dual meet vs Mt. Horeb (7/24/21) is Monday (7/19/21) at 11:30 pm. We are asking that you login to declare whether or not you're going to the meet if you have not done so already.

The process is simple. Login into your account and go to "Information" and scroll down to "Meet sign up instructions" to sign up for the meet. Please be sure to sign up to volunteer, as this is a home meet.

  • Conference Dual Meet Details - We will be hosting Mt. Horeb for 1 of 4 dual meets that will take place this Saturday July 24th. Our coaches will be putting their best line ups together for this meet. The results from our meet will be combined with the results from the other 3 Conference Dual meets going on that day to determine the top 16 individuals and the top 8 relays in those events in the conference. The top 16 times in each individual event overall will be awarded ribbons and medals based on their time. Relays will earn ribbons and medals for the top 8 times overall. All results are time based. Swimmers must have swam in at least 3 dual meets this season to be eligible to swim for conference awards. There is no limit on swimmers or entries for this meet. Exhibition heats are allowed, but will not be eligible for conference awards. Since this is very different from our traditional end of the season conference meet, the Tri-County board of directors voted that there will be no team scores, or age-group awards this year, due to possible COVID cases and quarantines, and not all teams swimming in the same pool together. Because our meet results will be combined with 3 other meets that day, there will be NO POSTED RESULTS at the meet this Saturday. We hope to have the final conference individual and relay results posted online sometime Saturday evening.
  • Food Drive this week! - As in year's past, the Sauk Prairie Pool Sharks would like to give back to our community by hosting a Food Drive this week! Please bring in any non-perishable items you wish to donate to our local food pantry. The age-group with the most items donated will receive a special treat at our Awards Night and Pool Party! Totes labeled by age group will be in the pool office by the front desk. Ask a coach if you need help locating them.
  • Swim-a-thon donations - We are still collecting Swim-a-thon donations! They can be turned into the Swim-a-thon folder in our Pool Shark mailbox at the outdoor pool as soon as possible. The folder has been moved to the front of the bin. Please put your donations/payments in an envelope labeled with your swimmer's name.
Swim-a-thon awards will be announced at the end of the season Awards night and Pool Party on the 26th.
  • End of the season Awards Night and Pool Party! - Our end of the season Awards night and Pool Party will be Monday, July 26th from 6-8 at the outdoor pool. Coaches will hand out Conference ribbons and medals to those who earned them at that time, and will meet with their age groups for some closing comments and comradery. After coaches have met with their age-groups, the pool will be open for a Pool Party for swimmers and coaches only. This is meant to be a fun culminating event for our swimmers and coaches. All pool rules and regulations MUST be followed to keep everyone safe. Please RSVP for this event on our website if you have not done so already.

Thank you for making it to the end of another long email! It's hard to believe this will be our last week together. We look forward to the excitement that our last week and meet brings!

See you at the Pool!
