Hello Pool Sharks!

I am sending this email a day early. I am leaving this morning to head out of town for the weekend. Todd and Julie Wuerger will be taking on my role this weekend while I am gone. If there are any changes in regards to the meet on Saturday, they will communicate with you via Swimtopia. If you need to get in touch with either of them, their email is [email protected]

If any practices need to be canceled due to weather today, or tomorrow, our head coaches will communicate via Swimtopia as well. 

Saturday we will be traveling to the Family Aquatic Center in Sun Prairie. This is also where the Tri-County Conference swim meet will be held this year.  All of our pool addresses and maps are on our website under "Resources", "Pool locations". The address for the Baraboo outdoor pool is:

If this is your first swim meet, please see the "Swim Meet 101" section under the "Resources" tab on our website, or click the link below to know what to expect and how to prepare for away meets. Since this is an away meet, we do not need volunteers.

Swim meet 101

• Please arrive around 7am. Our warm ups start at 7:30 and end at 7:50 am. The meet will start at 8 am.
• If something happens between now and the start of the meet and your swimmer is not able to attend, please email our Head Coaches ASAP to let them know. [email protected]
• If you want to see what your swimmer is swimming in the meet, go to the "Meets and Events" tab on our website and click on the gray meet entry box (that is marked closed). You will be able to see your swimmer(s) and what they are scheduled to swim tomorrow with the event number. If you have not uploaded the free Swimtopia App, it is very helpful in signing your swimmer up for meets and seeing what they are swimming.
• As of right now, the forecast is calling or showers and storms...Please come prepared with rain gear/pop ups/tents and plenty of extra towels, sweatshirts and sweatpants to keep yourself and your swimmer(s) warm. We will not cancel for light rain. We will swim through light rain and would only delay or cancel for heavy rain and/or storms. Sun Prairie will make the decision to cancel if necessary. If that is the case, Todd and Julie Wuerger will send an email as soon as possible if that decision is made. Please check your email before you leave for the meet. No email means the meet is on. 
• Tomorrow's theme for the meet is Pajama Day! Come dressed in your favorite PJ's to show your team spirit during the meet! (swimsuit underneath of course!)
• Heat sheets will be for sale at the concession stand as well as other concession items. The concession stand is CASH or Venmo.
• The visiting team normally sets up in the grassy area just past the aquatic center entrance area.
• This is a 25 meter pool (the same as our outdoor pool) so your swimmer's times will be comparable to the times in our pool. You can find all our conference pool lengths with conversions under "Resources, Pool Lengths".
• Once your child is done swimming all the events they are signed up for, you may leave. If you are not sure, please ask a coach to be sure they are done swimming before you leave.

Our swimmers are continuing to improve! Please remember we are still early in the season, and our swimmers are still learning. Please be a positive supporter of your child and their efforts, no matter what the outcome. Many of them might be trying something new and may be nervous. Remember, they are trying their best. Encourage them to display good sportsmanship, be good teammates, and have fun!
