Weekly update
Greetings Pool Shark families,
Congratulations on our last dual meet of the season and on a great team win! Also congrats to our senior swimmers Savannah Acker, Emerson Drew, and Daniel Klein on their last Pool Shark dual meet. We wish you the best of luck in your final Tri-County conference meet next weekend, and in all you do!
Thank you to all who volunteered yesterday, and throughout the season. Meets would not be possible without you!
Individual and team results are posted on our website under "Meets and Events." Click on "Meet results." They will be posted here after each meet. If your swimmer finished in the top 3 of their individual event, or their relay got 1st place, they earned a ribbon at the meet! Ribbons are in your family folder in the Pool Shark Mailboxes at the outdoor pool. Since this was a home meet, all swimmers 10 and under who legally finished their individual races will receive a participation ribbon. We also give ribbons for 10 and under for earning 4th-6th places in individual events. Only 1st place gets ribbons for relays. The mailbox will be placed on a table between the lifeguard office and the concession stand at the outdoor pool during the 5:30 practices. If it is not there, you can ask a coach for it. Parents or swimmers may access their mailboxes anytime the outdoor pool is open by asking a coach or pool staff member to access it for you.
Team Records update - 4 team records were broken yesterday! Congratulations to the following swimmers on their new team records!
9-10 100 IM Stella Wuerger – 1:32.31
9-10 100 Free Stella Wuerger – 1:20.30
15-18 200 Free Savannah Acker – 2:12.41
15-18 50 Fly Savannah Acker – 30.77
- Practices this week - Since our dual meet season is done, practices this week will be focusing on the Tri-County Conference meet and Invite this week. There will be NO BABY SHARK PRACTICES this week so our coaches can focus on our swimmers competing in their championship meets this week/weekend.
- SAVE THE DATE - Our end of the season awards ceremony and pool party will be Monday July 29th from 5:30-8:00pm at the Outdoor Pool. This is open to all Pool Sharks and a great way to celebrate the end of the season. Swim-a-thon and conference awards will be given out, followed by open swim for our Pool Sharks. The baby pool area will not be open. There will be a parent meeting from 5:30-6 in the bleachers. There will not be food, so please feed your swimmers before they come.
- Swim-a-thon Donations - Donations can be turned into the Swim-a-thon folder in our Pool Shark mailbox at the outdoor pool as soon as possible, or you can give them to Coach Riley at the indoor pool. The folder has been moved to the front of the bin. Please DO NOT put cash in the folder in the mailbox. If you can write a check for the total, that would be preferred, but if you need to hand in cash, please hand it to myself or Coach Riley. Checks can be made out to Sauk Prairie Pool Sharks. Donations should be placed in an envelope labeled with your swimmer's name and age group. All donations are due by the end of the day this Wednesday 7/24.
- Coin War update - Thank you for your donations to the team coin war to help support the family from the Dells who lost their daughter this summer. We raised over $270 to donate to the family. We are still calculating our concession profits from Saturday, and will report on our final donation numbers at our Pool Party next week, where the winning Coin war age group will also be announced. The Dells family and team are grateful, and appreciate our donation.
- Pictures and team t-shirts - Pictures are IN and have been placed in your family folder in the Pool Shark mailbox at the outdoor pool. Please pick them up, and any ribbons you have in your folders this week or at the Pool Party next Monday night. If you have not received your free team t-shirt, I will have them at the Pool Party next Monday. If you are not able to attend, please email me to arrange a time to pick up the t-shirts.
Facebook and Instagram - Our Sauk Prairie Pool Sharks have a Facebook and Instagram page. Please find, and follow us to see pictures from our meets and events, and for helpful information and announcements throughout the year. Thank you to Carol Griggs for taking and sharing pictures from our meets and events! Pictures from yesterday's meet have been posted to the FB page and will only be available to view for a week or so. Please take a minute to check them out!
Pool Shark plaques and annual stickers will be for sale this evening as well as some leftover concession items from the season. Please bring cash if you plan to purchase either of those items. We hope to see you there!
Thanks again for an amazing dual meet season! We are looking forward to Tri-county conference and Invite meet prep this week! We hope to see you all at the Pool Party on the 29th!
Have a great week!
The Sauk Prairie Pool Shark Board
