IMPORTANT CONFERENCE INFORMATION
Hello Pool Shark families,
I am sending out the meet information early. There is a lot of information here. If you have any questions, please reach out to myself, our coaches or board members.
If for some reason an emergency occurs, or your swimmer gets sick or hurt and is NOT able to swim Saturday or Sunday, please email our head coaches Ashley Pape and Riley Talmage at [email protected] ASAP.
All conference meet information can be found on the Conference website. Please bookmark, or save this website. Any live updates from the meet will happen here -Tri-County Conference Website
Hand OutAttached is a document from Sun Prairie including detailed meet policies and procedures as well with lots of odds and ends for the conference meet. You can find information on food, tents, bathrooms, tech suits, etc.
I have highlighted some key items below:
- The Tri-County Conference Championship will be swam at the Sun Prairie Family Aquatic Center. The address is 920 Linnerud Drive, Sun Prairie, WI
- The map of the facility, including where our team tent is located and parking options is on the website under "Meet Details", "Map, parking and facilities". Please take a moment to look at these maps. Maps, parking and facilities
- Parking - Parking will be available at the following locations, first come first serve. You can park at the Aquatic Center, Sheehan Park, Kicks Unlimited, Feuling Concrete, Baseball/Softball Complex and District Office. You can park on the streets, but please obey parking signs. The Civic Theater is for Permit Only - Officials, Errand Runners, Meet Crew - those who need to come and go quickly.
- Please arrive at 6:45am and check in with your coaches! Our warm-ups will be from 7:20-7:40 am both mornings. There was some miscommunication about our warm up times this week. The time listed above is the correct warm up time for our team for both mornings. We have lanes 5-8 and will be splitting the pool with Sun Prairie. There will be a meet break each day between the IM and breaststroke events. There will be two 20 minute warm up sessions during the meet break. We are in warm up session 1 on Saturday and are in lanes 5 and 6, and are in warm up session 2 on Sunday in lanes 5 and 6. Listen carefully and pay attention to coaches and announcers for the afternoon warm up session.
- Saturday July 27th is individual events ONLY. No Relays. If your swimmer is only swimming relays, they do not need to attend on Saturday. The top 16 individual times from each event on Saturday will qualify to swim in the consolation and final heats of their events on Sunday. If your swimmer gets 17th or 18th on Saturday, they are alternates for their events on Sunday. They should still report for their event on Sunday in case there are any scratches.
- Sunday July 28th is finals for individuals AND relays! There will be only 2 heats of every event on Sunday, but all swims count for points! 9-16th will swim in the first heat (consolation heat) and 1-8th will swim in the 2nd heat (finals heat). All 16 places score points for our team on Sunday for individual events and the top relay for each team will score the appropriate place points for their team!
- There will be a break on both days in the middle of the meet for lunch and a mid meet warm up. The break is about an hour long from 11-12pm tentatively. The first half of the meet on Saturday will be individual events 11-38. (Freestyle-IM events) The second half will be events 39-68. (breaststroke-butterfly events) The first half of the meet on Sunday will be relay and individual events 1-38 (Medley relay-IM events) and the second half will be events 39-78. (breaststroke-Free relay events)
- If you swimmer is only swimming in the 2nd half of the meet (Events 39-78, breaststroke-free relay events) they do NOT need to report to the meet at 6:45am for early warm-ups. Please plan on being at the meet by 10:30 for the afternoon warm ups. If your swimmer is doing this, PLEASE LET A COACH KNOW ahead of time and check in with them when you arrive.
- If there have been lineup changes after last Saturday, they may not show up on the website and app. The heat sheets at the meet will be accurate unless changes occur Saturday or Sunday morning. If a coach has told you about a change, that is what your swimmer is swimming. If you are not sure, please check with a coach.
- Heat Sheets and Admissions - There will be a $5.00 charge each day for each adult entering the facility. Kids under the age of 18 and swimmers are free. Programs and heat sheets will be available each day for $5.00 at the Admissions Table. On Sunday, Finals heat sheets can be purchased for $3.00. Cash ONLY.
- Bathrooms - The bathrooms in the bathhouse are reserved for SWIMMERS ONLY. (mainly to put tech suits on and take off) There will be port-o-pottys around the team tent areas and concession areas for all other bathroom use.
- Thank you to everyone who signed up to volunteer! You will receive an email from me tomorrow with volunteer shifts details. Please plan to check in for your shift 30 minutes ahead of time.
- Team photographer - Our team photographer is not able to attend the conference meet. If anyone has an interest in being our team photographer for the weekend, please email me directly. You will get a deck pass as our team photographer and free admission both days. There would be an expectation of sharing pictures to post after the conference meet.
- Team tents - (Please see facility maps on the conference website) Each team will be given a team tent in the grassy area surrounding the pool. Additional pop up tents can be set up near your team tent, it is first come, first serve. Please do not block any walking paths. If you choose to leave personal items in the team tent areas overnight, you do so at your own risk. Please do NOT set up pop up tents in the parking lots. Parking is limited and we need to utilize this space for people to park. You may set up tents in the grassy areas inside and outside the Aquatic Center.
- Sand Area and Playground:The playground and sand area will be closed for all spectators and swimmers. There is a beautiful park across the street with lots of playground space and picnic tables.
- Final Results - Meet mobile will be running and available for the meet. Just a friendly reminder that meet mobile results, and what you see on the scoreboard are NOT official results. The only results that are OFFICIAL are posted results. Results will be posted as soon as they available on the bathhouse windows.
- There will be a different theme each day! Saturday's team theme is TOY STORY and Sunday's all conference theme is PEACE, LOVE, SWIM attire and costumes! Come dressed in your favorite Toy Story and Peace, Love, Swim costumes/attire to show some team and Tri-County conference spirit this weekend! (swimsuit underneath of course!)
- Live streaming of the 2024 Tri-County Conference Meet is available for both days. Go to the Livestream link on the conference website to access the livestream both days. Livestream links
- Once your child is done swimming all the events they are signed up for, you may leave. If you are not sure, please ask a coach to be sure they are done swimming before you leave.
- Thank you for making it to the end of a very long email and for an amazing season so far! We can't wait to see what our Pool Sharks can do this weekend!
Please let us know if you have any questions. GO POOL SHARKS!!
