Weekly update - Meet deadline approaching

Greetings Pool Shark families,

Congratulations on our first win and a great first meet! Our swimmers (and parents) ROCKED IT! We defeated Baraboo 385-257, and had many compliments from their team on how well we ran the meet. (Especially for it being the first meet of the season) Thank you to all who volunteered! Meets would not be possible without you!

Individual and team results are posted on our website under "Meets and Events." Click on "Meet results." They will be posted here after each meet. If your swimmer finished in the top 3 of their individual event, or their relay got 1st place, they earned a ribbon at the meet! Ribbons are in your family folder in the Pool Shark Mailboxes at the outdoor pool. Since this was a home meet, all swimmers 10 and under who legally finished their individual races will receive a participation ribbon. We also give ribbons for 10 and under for earning 4th-6th places in individual events. Only 1st place gets ribbons for relays. The mailbox will be placed on a table between the lifeguard office and the concession stand at the outdoor pool during the 5:30 practices. If it is not there, you can ask a coach for it. Parents or swimmers may access their mailboxes anytime the outdoor pool is open by asking a coach or pool staff member to access it for you.

The registration deadline for the Meet vs Sun Prairie (6/14/25) is TOMORROW night (6/9/25) at 11:59 pm. We are asking that you login to declare whether or not you're going to the meet if you have not done so already.

The process is simple. Login into your account and go to "Information" and scroll down to "Meet sign up instructions" to sign up for the meet. This is another home meet, so please remember to sign up for a volunteer shift if you have a swimmer in the meet to fulfill your volunteer requirement.

Practice schedule switch this week! - We will transition to our normal summer practice schedule starting tomorrow. It is listed below:

  • 6:45-7:45 AM - Indoor Pool
  • 8-10 AM - High Performance - Indoor Pool (can only attend if registered for this program)
  • 5:30-6:30 PM - Outdoor Pool - Regular swim practice and Baby Sharks start this week!

The indoor pool staff will be opening up the locker rooms and mezzanine again for our team, so swimmers who are attending summer school in the next few weeks can access the showers before summer school. PLEASE talk to your swimmers about appropriate locker room behaviors, and tell them to clean up after themselves. Parents, if you are sitting in the mezzanine, there is NO FOOD allowed, and if you make a mess up there, please clean it up. If we have any issues, both of these spaces will be taken away.

TEAM PICTURES -

TEAM PICTURES ARE NEXT WEDNESDAY June 18th @ the outdoor pool - We will NOT have our 5:30pm practice that day due to pictures! Ziegler Photography will be at the outdoor pool from 5-6:45pm to take individual/sibling and age-group pictures. Picture forms are located in the front of the Pool Shark mailbox in a red folder labeled "Picture forms", and will be printed and available for you to fill out at the pool that day. There are also some picture forms located at the indoor pool. You can ask Coach Riley for them after practice.

Facebook and Instagram - Our Sauk Prairie Pool Sharks have a Facebook and Instagram page. Please find, and follow us to see pictures from our meets and events, and for helpful information and announcements!

Practice reminder - This is a friendly reminder that we ask parents to stay off the deck during practices. If you are at the indoor pool, you can observe practice from the mezzanine and if you are at the outdoor pool, we ask you either sit in the bleachers, or outside the pool fence. The tables on the pool deck are not for parents to sit at during practice. Thanks for understanding!

Volunteer opportunities - We have a few positions we are looking for that can count for your volunteer requirements!

Team photographer - We are looking for someone who will take action shots at meets, and post to our Facebook page after the meets. Please email me if you are interested!

Hy-tek training - We are looking for someone to train to learn how to run our team Hy-tek (computer system). If you are interested, please email me, and I can get you more information.

Team announcer in training - We are looking for a few more people to announce at our home meets. If you are interested in training, please email for more information.

Thanks again for a GREAT week of practices and first swim meet!

See you at the pool!
